Episode 1: Introducing All Gen Gamers!

We start things off with a bang! First we introduce ourselves and why we made this podcast, then we delve into why we started collecting games in the first place which leads us into the topic of how we first discovered and started playing video games. Other topics are brought up the whole way through, such as tips for making a YouTube channel, the joys of receiving a 3DO for Christmas, games we have been playing, and so much more! Our guest this week is Jimmy, “lotsofgames” as he is known on YouTube.

Episode 2: Turbo Grafx 16 & PC Engine, Everything You Want To Know

In this Episode of All Gen Gamers Pete, Gamester, and Johnny are joined by none other than Chris Bucci (AKA spida1a), creator of the popular “Turbo Views” show on YouTube. Chris is a Turbo Grafx expert with incredible knowledge for the system and it’s games, owning a complete library of every released US TG-16 title. We discuss the history behind the Tubro Grafx, the different system models available, and personal favorite games. Later in the show we are joined by our surprise second guest Luke Morse (AKA lukemorse1), who resides in Japan and gives us his insight on the PC Engine. Eventually everyone begins to reminisce  about their love for TV shows out of the 80’s and 90’s, we discuss the games we have been playing, and answer some of the questions our listeners sent in. Episode 3: Working Designs

This week Pete, Gamester, and Johnny are joined by Ed “SplatterTrigger”, who is most well known for his passion for the video game publishing company “Working Designs”, and owns a complete library of every Working Designs title released before its closure in 2005. Working Designs was most well known for bringing over Japanese RPG’s, strategy games, and top down shooters, from Japan to the United States. They are also well known because of their long time exclusive US publishing rights to the cult classic Lunar series. We hope you will walk away from this episode knowing more about this great little publisher, and why they are so missed within the video game world today.

Episode 4: Yard Sale Today! 8am-3pm

This week we are joined by Chuck Van Pelt and John Hancock, two passionate video game collectors and organizers behind the Portland Classic Gaming Expo in Oregon. Chuck and John offer up some great collecting tips for those looking to expand their libraries, how their collections came to be, and tell us some amazing tales of some of their most epic finds at yard sales, flea markets, and more. If you consider yourself a collector of the hobby of video games, or are interested in the idea behind it, this is an episode not to miss!

Episode 5: Don’t be a Weenie, Play the Neo Geo!

This week we are joined by John Thacker, a Neo Geo expert and the man behind the official Neo Geo “Master List” on www.neo-geo.com as well as the Digital Press rarity and price guide for the Neo Geo. Ever wonder why Neo Geo games cost so much? Whats the difference between AES and MVS? What would possess someone to spend $55,000 on two video games? Or do you have no clue about Neo Geo as a whole? This episode will help alleviate all of your burning questions! 

Episode 6: Tales of Arcade Collecting

In this weeks new and improved version of All Gen Gamers, we are joined by John Jacobson, also known as blkdog7, and is one of the hosts for the popular video game podcast “Video Game Outsiders”. John has amassed a personal arcade collection of over 30 different arcade cabinets in his home, most residing in his own personal arcade room in his basement. Find out everything you ever wanted to know about the joys and problems that come with collecting vintage arcade machines, and more arcade terminology than you can fathom! We are also joined by our new podcast editor, Jason Heine also known as “TheEMUReview” on YouTube who also has a soft spot for some Arcade action of his own. Episode 7: The PAX Experience

Gamester and Johnny talk about their trip together to the PAX Gaming Convention in Seattle Washington, and Pete finds out what he missed out on. Our guest for this week is Jason Heine, our new podcast audio engineer. Gamester and Johnny got to see and play a ton of the hottest upcoming games on schedule for release later this year and early next year. Find out which games were their favorites and biggest dissapointments of the show, who some of the awesome people are that they met during their time at PAX, and don’t forget the After Party!

Episode 8: Games We Can’t Wait To Play This Year

This week we are joined by Ed “RetroGamer3” to discuss upcoming games for the rest of September, October, and some of November that we can’t wait to get our hands on and play! We come to realize just how many blockbuster titles are coming out in such a short time. Find out which are our most anticipated and which titles have failed to peak our interest. We will be covering November and into 2011 in the next part coming up before the end of October. 

Episode 9: More Games We Can’t Wait To Play This Year

We continue on from last episode by talking about more games we cant wait to play this year. This episode focuses solely on releases in November. Theres so much coming out, you better start saving your money right away if you plan on playing everything! Look for the next part in this series sometime in late October or sometime in November.

Episode 10: We Get ScrewAttacked!

This week we are joined by Stuttering Craig from ScrewAttack.com to discuss the history of the website and the unbelievable success they have had over the past 5 years. ScrewAttack started out as a group of friends making videos about their passion for video games and only 5 years later they now have their own annual gaming convention, video game store, and internet business. Learn the trials and tribulations of taking your passion for video games and turning into an internet phenomenon. Oh yeah, and we talk about video games too!

Episode 11: NES 25th Anniversarry

We celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System by discussing our memories with the system, personal favorite games, and more! RobMan, Co-Host of the HappyConsoleGamer show is our guest for this week. Be sure to stay tuned and find out why Johnny can never look at a duck the same way again as we tackle your questions this week. 

Episode 12: Video Games Are AWESOME!

This week we are joined by Fraser from FarFromSubtle, the producer and creative mind behind the popular shows “Awesome Video Games” and “Video Games AWESOME!” on YouTube. We get a behind the scenes look into the process of creating the show and what games Fraser has been playing recently. If you are a fan of the NES and wished for a video game show that felt like a classic 80’s video game commercial meets Wayne’s World, Awesome Video Games is right up your alley! Episode 13: Halloween Special

In this Halloween special we talk about some of our favorite scary games and scary moments in games. Not all games need to be filled with cheap shock scares and monsters to be scary, find out why games like Myst and Sonic are mentioned! We also spend a ton of time talking about our favorite horror movies, and Jason and Gamester learn of something they will never be able to unlearn for the rest of their lives….stay tuned!

Episode 14: You got a bit of SHMUP in my FPS

This episode we talk about shooters, both in the side scrolling shoot ’em up genre and first person shooters as well. We are joined by guest Oliver “invidninja92” who knows a thing or two about some great shooting games. It’s a long one so get ready!

Episode 15: Where this podcast will take us, nobody knows!

Episode 15 is a casual discussion episode and we are joined by Luke “lukemorse1” from Japan. We don’t really have a set topic, so we just let things roll! The show gets….interesting to say the least towards the end. Celing Cat? Keyboard Cat? Screw that we got Robot Cat! and Johnny reveals the shows brand new segment for future episodes, stay tuned!

Episode 16: Kids these days….

Pack your lunch, grab your bag, and don’t forget your DS, All Gen Gamers goes to school! This episode we bring on Andrew “bowserjrfan123” to tell us how gaming is today from a 12 year old perspective, get in some talk about Earthbound and some of the history behind the Mother series, and more! 

Episode 17: This Episode is Anything But Dinky

We go in reverse order and answer some of your questions first, which takes up a majority of the show. Dinky Dana chats with us this episode as we delve into our thoughts on the future of gaming, OnLive, our favorite games of this generation, favorite game compilations, Love Talk with Johnny Millennium, and more! 

Episode 18: The show is now legal

This week we have an open conversation. We talk about a number of games including Donkey Kong Country Returns, about online playing aka WoW, and of course answer some questions from our listeners including the special Love Talk question for Johnny.

Episode 19: Hadouken!

This week we are joined by Behrudy as we talk about all things Street Fighter! Find out which are our favorites, why you should NEVER throw Johnny in Street Fighter, and more! Other fighting games get mentioned such as Mortal Kombat, and of course we answer your questions.

Episode 20: We would tell you the title, but we can’t

What we can tell you however is that this episode we are joined by Craig “tvandlust” to talk about whatever topics come up, though we have a pretty long discussion about handheld systems. Johnny does manage to make it to the show, so no worries there for all you Love Talk fanatics 🙂 

Episode 21: Christmas 2010 Special

This week is the Christmas 2010 Special! We are joined by Rob Man as we share some of our most memorable Christmas memories, and things just get crazy from there on. Episode 29: Mortal Farmbat

This week we are joined by Vintagevideogamegeek as we answer a ton of your questions and premier a new segment for the show called The Whale’s Quick Draw where our Facebook followers get a chance to have all of us answer your questions in under 60 seconds. Gamester tells us more about the history of the 3DO, and things get a little more crazy when we involve goats.

Episode 31: First Live Podcast!

Spur of the moment we decided to record our first LIVE podcast last week on justin.tv and we had a lot of fun with a chat room filled with listeners which fueled the insanity. We were joined by guest Crow “RetroRoadShow”. We discussed so much stuff its hard to list because the podcast ended up being nearly 4 hours long, but we answered tons of your questions including a live Love Talk and Whale’s Quick Draw with the chat room! This show is uncut and unedited in it’s entirety, but we enjoyed doing this so much we definitely want to do more in the future, and to know when we plan on doing an episode live follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Justin.tv

Episode 32: The Doctor is in!

This week we are honored to be joined by the true King of Kong, Doctor Hank Chien, who is most well known for being the current world record holder of the high score in the classic arcade game “Donkey Kong”. Hank breaks it all down for us and takes us from the start of it all before he even played the game, up until today and his thoughts on the future of where the high score can go next for the game. Oh, and we talk about other stuff later in the show, but our talk with Hank is not to miss!

Episode 33: The 3DS Draws Near!

We are joined by Nick “ballinnick1982” as we discuss all kinds of things. Topics include PAX East anticipation, 3DS Launch titles and Pete’s need to own them all (almost), Jason has a gamegasm and will do something strange for a piece of change, iPad2, and Pete goes to Nintendo World for 3DS. want to spend money? This week we go live and are joined by Rob Man to give our predictions and discuss things we are looking forward to seeing there. Of course Nintendo’s new console is in the spotlight. Jason also samples his music for his first video game soundtrack, and much more!

This week we are joined by Barry “Yesterday92” to share stories about his incredible game room and love for collecting that is sure to surprise many. We also delve into the the outer limits as we discuss UFO’s and so much more!

Episode 44: Picking up Games n’ Gals

This week we are joined by Billy and Jay from the Captain8Bit channel to discuss their “Game Chasers” series as well as talk about hunting down retro games in todays pawn shops and game stores. Jason also gives us the inside scoop on how he picks up girls over Xbox Live and what would you do for a Sega CD? 

Episode 45: Battle Kid

In this weeks episode we are joined by “Sivak” to discuss his homebrew NES game “Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril” and the upcoming sequel as well as what it is like to do an almost entirely solo homebrew game for a retro system such as the NES. We also answer audio questions, present Jason with a gift and then bash him soon afterwards, and discuss our final E3 predictions (Eventhough E3 has already happened).

Episode 46: E3 2011 Talk

This week we are joined by Herman “Grooveraider” to talk about E3 2011. Herman has been attending E3 for a long time and takes us back in time to his memories of the past E3’s and makes us jealous in the process. Episode 50: The Longest One Yet!

Wow, 50 Episodes already! First off we recommend that you watch this including video instead of just listening to the audio, the full 4 hour podcast with video can be found on our YouTube page (CLICK HERE!) We celebrated by invinting our listeners to a live recording of the show as well as using webcameras for the first time. We had a steady amount of listeners that night, anywhere between 300-350 at all times for the duration for the 4 HOUR show, yeah…it’s a long one! During that time we had many surprises such as Johnny stopping in, and Robman filling in as the 4th host for the remainder of the show. We even took tons of your live calls throughout the night! Theres tons of other stuff in there too so be sure to give it a full listen. We appologize for the audio quality (and Pete’s mic level) we hope to have it ironed out for future live shows.

This week we are joined by Greg AKA “Gary the Cat Killer” who also happens to be Gamester’s brother. Greg and John talk about memories growing up playing games and of course we try and delve deeper into the infamous cat killer story. Pete also talk about Pokemon and how it has taken hold of him, and we do some questions.

This year for our Halloween episode we delve into our demented, twisted, sick, vile minds (well some of us), to bring you discussions about Horror films with returning special guest Oliver “InvidNinja92” who knows a thing or two about movies that go bump in the night! Of course we talk about games later on as well. Plus we bring you a special Halloween themed Whale’s Quick Draw starring Halloween Whale!

Episode 65: A Serbian Podcast

This week we are joined by Kevin “JuliusBloop” Lieber to discuss the most (debatably) disturbing movie of all time “A Serian Film” as happily recommended by friend of the show Oliver from the Halloween special. Pete and Johnny (especially Johnny) are thrilled to talk about what they witnessed in this film (Explicit warning!). Johnny and Kevin reminesce about Xenogears, Johnny wonders if Jason just hates enjoyment, we talk about listener appreciation month, and much more!
